Academy of Visual Arts (AVA) of Hong Kong Baptist University is a public institution offering degree programmes in visual arts, combining studio-based research into contemporary Visual Arts issues and sustainable service to the cultural and creative sector of Hong Kong as well as to the community at large. They will hold an annuel show to show up the artwork from more than 100 graduates every years.
the theme of the 2018 annuel show is “Newton’s cradle” which mean any force exerted on an object induces an equal reaction force.
The “Mexcellent” was chosen as the main typeface for the project. The typeface is able to give a big impact combining with motion graphics and a sense of uniqueness to an audience and matches the theme keyword “force” as well.
As for the motion poster, I combined Newton’s cradle and scratch cards together to show the uncertain future of a graduate. The marbles slide across the layout from the outside, and the underlying information is revealed at the same time.
